Title I Family Night- 2016- Camp Read Alot!!
Last night, May 10th, 2016 we had our Title I family night. When the families arrived at school we started out with me (Mrs. Robinson) reading a book. I read the book, A Camping Spree with Mr. McGee. While reading the book I demonstrated some comprehension strategies to use while reading with your child. Some of these strategies included, prediction, making connections, what do you think, and word patterns. After the book was read I explained each station. They included, making a puppet from the story, making a story cube, word work with a sentence, game night, fishing for rhymes, reading in the tents and making s'mores. After the kids completed three stations they got to choose a prize bag and a book to take home! We also had a hot dog, chip and bar supper! Thank you to everyone who came last night! It was a huge success!
